A.T. has been telling stories since she could write. She holds a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing and is both a fiction author and a published poet with a love for lyrical language and dark, fantastical worlds.
Off the page, she’s a lifelong barrel racer, horse trainer, and full-time wrangler of three feral children (a Leo daughter and Sagittarius twins). In rare quiet moments, she’s probably reading dark fantasy, adding to her tattoo collection, traveling, listening to music, or playing guitar (enthusiasm exceeds skill).
A.T. is a Cancer sun, Taurus moon, and Capricorn rising. Do with that what you will.
A note from A.T. on why she writes and what she hopes you take from her books and poems:
“Like most authors and poets, writing has always been a core passion, but everything changed when I lost my son in an accident. Canyon was only three and a half, but he adored books and story time. One of our favorite things was making up bedtime stories, and I would spin the biggest, wildest tales I could for him (some of his favorites were Jack and the Beanstalk, Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site, and Little Blue Truck). After Canyon passed, I made a vow to honor my son and his love for stories by taking my writing seriously. I went through a season of darkness, which inspires a lot of the grief and rage you’ll find in my books, but during that time, I renewed my faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. Without the promise that ‘Joy comes in the morning,’ I’m not sure I’d be here today.
Now, I write in Canyon’s honor, hoping to show readers, through prose and plot, that even in the darkest moments, there is always hope for a better tomorrow.
As a neurodivergent and dyslexic author who has struggled with depression, I strive to reflect mental health journeys and inclusive representation in my work. My heart is to create stories where all readers can see themselves and know they are loved. I believe that’s what Jesus modeled most: love without condition, no matter what the world says.”
